I found the techno media article very informing. Similar to a few other articles we have read in this class, it goes over a general history of human communication through technology. Everything from the invention of the phone to the development of radio is discussed.
A really cool term I came across in this article is the idea of “Cybernetics”. The author describes Cybernetics as the study of messages as well as the communication facilities that belong to it. This is really cool, because it echoes a major concept in this class that the “Medium is the message”. This seems to happen all the time with my peers. Occasionally, things are misinterpreted because of the medium in which they are being conveyed. When switching from one way of communication to another, one has to take that into consideration.
Another really cool personal connection between my life and this article is the discussion of the medium of radio. I am someone who is very involved in the radio world in many regards, and reading this section was really fascinating. It is incredible that it was designed for simple two way communication and turning into something much more.
